Establish Your Own Scholarship Fund

There are many considerations for eligibility and selection criteria that you’ll need to make when establishing your own named scholarship fund.

The first step we ask you to take is to describe the person or persons you would like to see receive your scholarship.

Vermont Scholarship Fund staff will work with you to help you tailor scholarship selection criteria to reflect your goals. Some of our donors restrict their scholarship awards to students from specific schools or regions, or to students who plan to study a certain academic discipline. Many donors stipulate that financial need be a strong component; others want to award students who have overcome great adversity in their lives. Student essays, financial records (the federal financial aid form that is integral to any college application), and letters of recommendation are usually a part of the scholarship selection process.

If you would like to help a student attend college, please consider making a contribution through the Vermont Scholarship Fund.

Pizzagalli Construction Company established the Kilbourn-Sawyer Memorial Scholarship. Named for two well respected and deceased PC Superintendents Art Kilbourn and George Sawyer, the scholarship recognizes a Vermont graduating high school who demonstrates outstanding performance in a range of areas and assists with his/her pursuit of a degree in a construction-related field. According to PC’s President Peter Bernhardt, “This scholarship is an outgrowth of how we felt about Art and George as employees, and how Pizzagalli values and strives for excellence and continuous improvement in all that we do.”
